We believe education is about more than academic achievement. It is about preparing young people to understand who they are, discover their God-given purpose, and use their gifts to make a meaningful difference in the world. That is why we combine the academic strength of a Cambridge education with a distinctly Biblical foundation.
At MSCS, Cambridge is more than an academic pathway. It helps students think deeply, ask questions, solve problems, communicate confidently, and become independent learners. Through meaningful learning experiences, students are prepared not only to achieve academically, but also to keep learning, adapt, and embrace new opportunities.
We combine the strength of a Cambridge education with a strong Biblical foundation. Students are encouraged to see the world from different perspectives while remaining grounded in their faith, values, and identity. We want them to grow into confident, respectful, and compassionate young people who are ready to collaborate, contribute, and lead.
Cambridge gives students the tools to go further. Our Biblical foundation gives them the values to know why. Together, they prepare students to step into the world with confidence, character, and purpose — ready not only to succeed in the world, but to make a meaningful difference in it.
At Mawar Sharon Christian School, we believe that education is not about rushing children to become academically advanced. It is about building strong foundations, nurturing curiosity, developing character, and gradually preparing students to think, communicate, create and make a difference.
Our Cambridge journey begins from the Preschool years and continues through Elementary, Junior High and Senior High, allowing students to grow through an age-appropriate progression of knowledge, skills and independence.
Our Preschool programme is designed for young children from age 2–6.
At this stage, children are not expected to sit still and learn like older students. They learn by exploring, playing, talking, creating, questioning and interacting with the world around them.
Cambridge brings learning together holistically through:
This means that while children are developing early literacy and numeracy, they are also learning something equally important: how to communicate, cooperate, explore, solve simple problems, express themselves and understand the world around them.
Cambridge intentionally uses informal, play-based learning alongside more formal experiences that gradually prepare children for Primary.
We understand a common concern among parents:
‘If my child learns through play, will they really be ready for Primary?’
Yes—but readiness is developed gradually.
Throughout the Early Years, children begin to develop age-appropriate Cambridge ways of thinking. They learn to ask questions, recognise patterns, explain their thinking, explore different ideas, make predictions, observe carefully, sort and classify, and begin to evaluate their answers and strategies.
They also begin to think scientifically by asking questions about the world, making predictions, observing and exploring, recording simple observations and comparing what happened with what they expected.
The goal is not to make preschool children ‘study like primary students.’
The goal is to make them ready to learn like primary students.
As students move into Elementary and Junior High, the Cambridge curriculum becomes increasingly structured while continuing to develop curiosity, independence and deeper thinking.
Students build strong foundations in the core subjects of:
English, Mathematics, and Science (social and life science).
These subjects develop progressively, allowing students to deepen both their knowledge and understanding each year. They are complemented by essential skill-building areas: Art & Design, Digital Literacy / ICT, Cambridge Global Perspectives. More Than Knowing the Answer. One of the distinctive features of our Cambridge programme is Global Perspectives. Rather than learning only what to know, students learn how to find, question, evaluate and communicate knowledge.
Through Global Perspectives, students develop:
These skills become increasingly important as students progress from receiving information to thinking independently and using information wisely.
By Senior High, students are ready to make more informed choices about their academic interests and future pathways. Students can explore either a Science stream or a Social Science stream, or a mix between them in view of their university choices. For example business, physics, and extended Mathematics
Science Stream: Students can develop deeper knowledge in: Biology, Chemistry, extended Mathematics or Physics.
Social Science Stream : Students can explore: Sociology, Business, Economics, Geography, or History
Both pathways maintain a strong foundation in: English, Mathematics, Art & Design, Research, and Computer Science / Digital Skills
This balance ensures that students do not become strong only in content knowledge. They also continue developing the research, communication, digital and creative skills needed for university, work and life beyond school.
Cambridge journey at MSCS is therefore not simply a sequence of examinations.
It is a progression:
Preschool
“I wonder...”
Children explore, play, communicate and discover.
↓
Elementary
“I want to know...”
Students build strong foundations and develop curiosity.
↓
Junior High
“How do I know?”
Students investigate, question, research and collaborate.
↓
Senior High
“What do I think, and what will I do with what I know?”
Students develop deeper knowledge, independent thinking, and prepare for their future pathways.
A Cambridge education that grows with the child: From curiosity, to knowledge. From knowledge, to understanding. From understanding, to wisdom and action.
